Our client is a Japanese entertainment company producer of collectible card games and trading cards, publisher of mobile apps and games, promotional items and many other venues, which was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Tokyo

Job Description

- Work with the team to ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to management
- Liaise with Japan HQ for accounts-related matters
- Assist Manager in financial analysis, reporting and consolidation
- Prepare monthly costing and accounting records for mobile games in-app sales (Google and Apple), including adjustment of deferred revenue from unutilized mobile game currency
- Prepare Mobile royalty/sales report for licensors
- Ensure calculations for Google and Apple sales report are up to date with the latest changes in tax and charges
- Review and discuss accounting treatment on new products / current procedures with Manager
- Keep track of accruals and prepayments
- Review local and overseas payments and records
- Prepare and compute S45 withholding tax
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and perform monthly intercompany reconciliation
- Coordinate and liaise with auditor / tax agent / IRAS / any external parties whenever required
- Compute monthly average exchange rates for accounts and other departments’ use
- Constantly adapting to review and improve internal control and workflow

Job Requirements

- At least Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Accountancy or Finance
- Has at least 3 years of relevant working experience
- Possess General Ledger (GL) skills, knows how to handle double journal entries etc.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral
- Proficiency in Japanese would be advantageous (in order to liaise with Japanese speaking associates)
- Well-versed in MS Office, especially in Microsoft Excel (Pivot table, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Meticulous and attentive to details
- Excellent at schedule management and multi-tasking
- Hand-on experience with Oracle NetSuite system would be advantageous
- Adept at working both independently and in a team
- Effective decision-making skills and strong problem-solving skills
- Sensitive to cultural and linguistic nuances
- Open to work on some weekends/public holidays for Company events

Compensation

- Working location: Odeon Towers
- Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.5 hours/day including 1 hour lunch break
- Reporting time to work between 8.30am to 10am; 1 hour lunch break between 11.30am to 2pm
